Supported file types

Speudio keeps the attachments from your email, within your plan's per-file size limit and its total file storage, and most common file types open right inside Speudio, so you rarely need to download anything. It's all read-only: previewing a file never changes the original.

A file that was too large, or that arrived after your storage was full, is kept as a greyed-out entry naming the reason instead of vanishing, so you can see what was left behind. The original is still attached to the message in your real mailbox. See Plan limits & what's kept for the per-plan numbers.

When the same file arrives again, on a reply or a reminder, Speudio keeps one copy and shows it on every message that carried it. So a signature logo quoted through a long thread costs you the space of one small image, not one per message, and a document sent twice still appears on both emails.

Open inline (no download needed)

  • PDF: the full document, page by page.
  • Images: PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP, HEIC (iPhone photos) and more, in a zoomable viewer.
  • Video and sound: MP4, WebM, MP3, M4A and similar. They start playing as soon as you open them. If your browser starts one without sound, press Turn sound on.
  • Word: both modern .docx and older .doc files.
  • Excel: .xlsx, .xls and OpenDocument .ods, shown as tables.
  • PowerPoint: .pptx (the slide text).
  • OpenDocument & RTF: .odt and .odp documents and .rtf files.
  • Text & notes: .txt, .csv, Markdown, JSON, XML, logs and similar.
  • AutoCAD: .dwg drawings show their embedded preview image.

Pictures pasted into a message

Some senders paste a screenshot straight into the message instead of attaching a file, and an order table or a receipt often arrives that way. Speudio shows the message as text and keeps those pictures out of the way until you ask. Under the message you see a button such as Show 3 pictures in this message. Press it and they open right below it as thumbnails. Click one to read it at full size, and press the button again to close them.

Nothing loads until you press it, so a message carrying dozens of pasted pictures costs nothing to scroll past. The button shows every picture the message carried, including the small ones Speudio otherwise treats as signature logos, because you asked for them.

What the AI reads

The assistant reads the text inside your documents, from PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument and RTF to CSV, web pages and forwarded email files (.eml), so you can ask "which file mentions the spring schedule?" and it points you to the right one. See AI assistant and Search.

Photos by what's in them

Speudio can also look inside your photos so you can search them by their content. See Image search for which plans include it.

Anything else

Files we can't show inline (for example .zip archives, design source files or 3D models) open in their own app: use the Download button in the preview. A file Speudio stored downloads exactly as it arrived. A greyed-out entry has no copy here to download, so open that one from your own mailbox.
